A week ago today, I began taking supplements that I'm hopeful will greatly impact my health, and the health of our family! While I intended to get us all started - stat! - after praying with my husband, we decided to give it a try before giving it to our children.
I have kept a daily journal of how I'm feeling. Truth be told, while I know this isn't a miracle solution - and that it wouldn't reverse every complication in my body immediately - I was still hopeful I would see a huge impact in just one week! I was hoping to feel way more energetic and be in awe of the symptoms just going away.
It's a crazy little word that means a myriad of things for different people. But here's the truth: my first week on Plexus did not leave me feeling miraculously better. What it did was leave me healthier. The way I've been feeling, is in large part because of the amount of toxins being purged from my body --- and that, friends, is GOOD news!
As I said in my last post, I started this because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired! I still had a virus when I began. My ears have been full off and on for years, along with my very temperamental tonsils being inflamed. Our weather here has been all over the place and allergens are high. (If you're a lady and would like information more specific to women's issues, feel free to contact me --- I'm leaving anything regarding that out of the posts!)
a look at my journal:
Noticed an immediate change in GI activity, within 2 hours of taking BioCleanse. Received my package late in the day, so started supplements at 5pm.
Swelling in ankles and feet. Tired in afternoon. Stuffy with a headache all day. Slept well night before. I feel cranky and kind of blah.
Bit of pressure in head, sinuses. Throat irritated from drainage. Still feeling cranky and energy fluctuating throughout day.
Feeling almost back to normal! Feeling foggy and out of it. Felt much better yesterday --- think it's related to water consumption. Had 8 mason jars yesterday, but only 5 today. Need to re-up the water!
Did not sleep well. Pain in back and tummy over night. GI tract has been slowed to almost a halt since day 2. Still feeling tired. Should have had more water yesterday! Feeling more alert and far less cranky. (thank God!) Had such a good, busy day - got a ton done for waking feeling tired!
Woke up feeling great! Still a little stuffy --- might be allergies and/or the weather? Slept well last night. Have had an enjoyable day with kiddos. Lump in the throat feeling has subsided and ear pressure is substantially less! GI tract is back on track! (hallelujah!)
the proof is in the pictures.
I took pictures last week, so that I could see any progress. The picture on the left is from last week. My chin was broken out, but has cleared up significantly. Under my eyes is brighter and the whites of my eyes are less bloodshot. I fully realize looking at these pictures, these changes might not be noticeable. But last week I was wearing concealer, under eye cream brightener, eyeliner, and mascara - today, I didn't get around to putting on any makeup! My cheeks are also a bit less... puffy!
My tonsils are far less inflamed, though admittedly, that could also have to do with not being sick anymore! I had a film on my tongue --- the one associated with yeast overgrowth in your body. And while still present, it has improved about 25%! (I'll post pictures next week, when prayerfully the results are a little better! Because, quite frankly, the before pictures are embarrassing!)
a word about the weight.
Weight loss was not my ultimate goal - though I know my journey to wellness must include losing the weight I gained last year, during one of the most stressful seasons of my life! So, because of that, I also took measurements last week. I measured my neck, upper arms, forearms, bust, waist, hips, thighs, and calves. In one week I lost 6.675" total. Not spectacular, but it's something!
cutting the caffeine.
I am amazed at how little coffee I've consumed. I am a serious coffee drinker. Not just because I like the taste, or because I'm a social drinker. But because keeping up with 6 kiddos, a house, writing, and being a wife requires more energy than I EVER had. I didn't even mean to cut back --- I just did. Perhaps this contributed to the headaches and fatigue, along with the detox.
Plexus is not a miracle pill, weight loss system, or meal replacement shake. It doesn't heal everything. Actually, it doesn't heal anything. Instead, it is intended to equip our God-given bodies with the tools they need to do what God designed them to do. Through proper nutrition, which addresses things like soil nutrient depletion and chemical exposure. This is why some of the testimonies seem so crazy --- how can something help such a wide variety of symptoms?? Because it isn't treating the symptoms. Instead, it's helping the body optimize it's ability to fight! And that's beautiful thing!
week one recap.
Detoxing isn't fun. My body has been under attack, and attacking itself, for so long that there was a LOT to purge out. I am now taking a PREbiotic AND a PRObiotic --- and the combination is wonderful! They are waking up every bit of good bacteria in my gut to eliminate the junk that's been running the show for far too long. My body feels different. It hasn't felt purely fabulous --- not even close. But it is obvious that healing is taking place at the core. And I'm excited about what that means long term.
I'm not past the point of being grateful for the 60-day money back guarantee. I'm not a sold-out believer. But this first week has left my body healing and me more curious about what the benefits of this whole-food, non-gmo, mircobiome changing stuff can do!
If you have questions, feel free to leave them! You can find information about Plexus here! I'd love to have some people join me on this experimental journey!
One way or another, we are getting to wellness - and it seems very likely that Plexus will be part of that journey!
Here you will find the musings of a homeschooling, work from home, adoptive Momma of 6!
